Welcome to Summerberry, Saskatchewan
Glad you dropped in! Welcome to the web page of the very real town of Summerberry, Saskatchewan.
Possibly the smallest town on the net!
This 2023 picture is of the 2 story field stone school built in 1906 at a cost of $5,000. As of this update, 2023, the school still stand proudly.
- Population: while it peaked around 160 in the early 1900s it is now about 12 (..or so…)
- Location: just north of # 1 Highway 62 miles east of Regina, Saskatchewan
- Many years ago it was officially 3/4 Ghost Town. As some residents are still in place it could not be classified as 100% a Ghost Town
- In 2003 a documentary about the # 1 Highway across Canada was made. They stopped in Summerberry and did a short segment with Shirley at the old stone school (her portion of the video is on the Town History page). Entitled “The Longest Road” it was produced by the National Film Board and has some great graphics of Summerberry, plus a bit about it’s demise. Link to the movie’s listing in 2023.
